ACCESS to WORK - Adult Neurodiversity in the Workplace
This workshop explores; what is meant by the term, neurodiversity and how it is currently viewed in education and employment. We look at how the Social Model of disability differs from the Medical Model and how the two can work together to help a neurodiverse learner/employee understand their own thought processes and learning strengths.
We look at the need to understand the thinking style of a neurodiverse learner, how self-esteem can be a barrier to success in employment and efficiency in the workplace will be explored. Furthermore, this workshop will look at how great benefits can be gained when reasonable adjustments are made.
